I was thinking about why I get emotional sometimes when watching anime or reading manga. Since this blog is about my thoughts on Naruto, I’ll refer to this manga/anime series while speaking about this topic.
I was speaking with a (super special ♥) someone yesterday about this subject and we concluded that it’s completely normal to sympathize with characters from anime/manga. It’s human nature, whether or not the people are fictional, to connect and understand feelings of suffering, joy, love, etc. Similar to how I’ve cried for characters in movies with real people, it’s the same with anime/manga. I think one of the main reason people write manga is to draw people into their story, their creations. Even Masashi Kisimoto himself wanted his readers to sympathize with his characters, such as Gaara.
