Naruto Feature: Hashirama Senju and His Dream

Hashirama’s Dream for the Shinobi World

Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage (Shodaime Hokage) and the legendary Wood Jutsu User, was Ashura’s reincarnation before Naruto Uzumaki. Kishimoto, Naruto’s creator, made sure that we all understood the importance of Hashirama’s character in the manga series. He was not only Ashura’s reincarnation, but Hashirama was the first shinobi to establish a system that would be the foundation of future peace between shinobi nations and villages.

The Beginning of a New World

Hashirama Senju, a person with many similarities to Naruto Uzumaki, was an idealistic, compassionate man who wanted all wars to stop since he witnessed many children dying on the battlefield, including his younger brothers. Hashirama never gave up on his dream, unlike Madara Uchiha, and that’s what was needed to set the foundation of peace.

Personally, I don’t think Hashirama or Madara were the only ones to dream of a world without war. I think many shinobi before and after these two wanted a world without battles and bloodshed, but they gave up on that dream, thinking it was impossible. But Hashirama changed the fate of shinobi forever by never giving up on his dream.

Can you imagine having to be on the battlefield as a young child? Before you even turned 10 years old? And not living a full life because you died? Or witnessing so many massacres and killings at such a young age? Seeing your loved ones die and get mutilated? I can’t even… no. Just no. Even though Naruto is fiction, I can’t tell you how much it meant that Hashirama decided to create peace and a children-free warzone later in the series.

Most Emotional Moments in Naruto Part Two

All right, I’m back again with the most emotional moments in Naruto! Here’s Part One if you haven’t seen it yet. I’m still going on my nostalgia trip with Naruto, so you’ll most likely see more Naruto blog posts in the near future xD Let’s get started.

16. Young Obito Uchiha’s Death

Despite Obito’s drastic change and him being one of the main causes of the Fourth Great Shinobi War, his young version was much more likeable. Obito was just like Naruto when he was a kid, dreaming of becoming Hokage. But, because he considered himself the black sheep of the elite Uchiha Clan, he worked hard to get noticed by the girl he liked and to beat Kakashi, his opposite and his rival. Before his death, though, Obito awakened his Sharingan and decided to become the person he wanted to be. Then, Obito sacrificed himself to save his friends, and he died an incredibly noble death. I cried. No shame. Seriously. Young Obito Uchiha is one of my favorite characters. Tobi is, too… xD I’m happy Obito was able to become a hero again before he died again. He did a lot of terrible things, but his life shows you can take many paths or take the wrong one but get back on the right one. I think everyone has experienced that, so I’m not going to hate him like most people do.

17. Obito Uchiha’s Hell

When Obito gets wind that Kakashi and Rin are being chased down by shinobi from the Hidden Mist Village, Obito goes out to save them, determined to protect his friends. But, unfortunately, Rin committed suicide on Kakashi’s Raikiri and Obito witnessed it, which activated his Mangekyo Sharingan. He created a sea of blood by killing all the Hidden Mist shinobi, and his rage was one of the most emotional moments for me. Obito completely lost it and activated his Mangekyo Sharingan with Kakashi. That entire scene was pure… emotion. It was powerful. Then, when Obito went to Rin’s dead body, holding her close to him, I lost it. It’s so sad to see a pure-hearted soul like Obito go astray and lose someone he loved. I hate death, and this was the turning point of Obito’s life down to hell. Continue reading Most Emotional Parts In Naruto Part Two

Naruto Feature: Why I Like Tobirama Senju

Tobirama Senju: A Naruto Character Analysis

Hahaha… Well, Tobirama isn’t the most popular Hokage, but I gotta say, I do like him quite a bit, and he’s one of my favorite Naruto characters (besides his looks, of course xD). I hear and read a lot of negative comments about Tobirama (e.g., he was too harsh, he hated the Uchihas, etc.), so I want to share my thoughts on his character.

Here’s a little about me and what you can expect to read from this post: I know there’s a lot of heat around Tobirama, but I personally found his character amusing and noble in many ways. For me, though, I like to look past the surface and see if I can read deeper into someone’s personality and motives, even if he is a fictional character. So I prefer to not hate on characters without really understanding them. Plus, hate is such a negative emotion, so I’d like to leave it out of my system. What I’ll talk about in this post is Tobirama’s overall character, why I like him, and his flaws.

Tobirama’s Character Analysis

Before I get into why I like Tobirama, I want to talk about his character and my thoughts on him. Ever since Tobirama was a child, he’s been the more “realistic” and composed one of the two Senju brothers. He tells it like it is, and he balances Hashirama’s overly optimistic personality. Tobirama shared the same dream as his brother and the Will of Fire (the will to protect the village, the children, and the people).

Though he was composed most of the time, Tobirama had quite a short temper. If he believed you posed a thread to the village, he would automatically go into battle mode, which was shown when Sasuke was deciding if he wanted to protect the village or go on with his revenge. Tobirama didn’t leave any wiggle room, and he didn’t think “Oh, well, let’s see if I can change this guy’s mind and resolve this without violence” like Hashirama would. Tobirama acted on instinct, and I think that was honed when he had to fight in wars most of his life.

Most Emotional Parts in Naruto Part One

The Most Tear-Jerking Naruto Moments (Pt. 1)

Leave it to shounen mangakas to create stories that make you cry like the characters in the series itself xD After going through the Naruto series once again, I’ve had some tear-jerking moments, and I thought it’d be fun to list the most memorable, emotional moments in the series. So here we go!

1. Iruka-Sensei Accepting Naruto

This is the very first episode of the Naruto anime series! Naruto was hated and isolated by the villagers because he was the Kyuubi’s Jinchuriki. Since Iruka’s parents were killed during the Kyuubi’s attack on Konoha 16 years ago (Naruto time), Iruka also held ill feelings toward Naruto. But that all changed when Iruka said this:

Yeah… the monster fox would do that… but Naruto is different. I’ve acknowledged him as… one of my excellent students. He may not be the hardest worker… and he is clumsy and no one accepts him… but he already knows what it is to feel pain inside your heart. He isn’t the monster fox. He is a member of the Konohagakure. He’s Naruto Uzumaki!

Iruka is the first person who acknowledges Naruto, and I think this was not only an emotional, life-changing moment for Naruto, but it was for me as well. Have you ever wanted to be accepted by someone? Have you ever wanted to be loved or know love? Well. I think many of us can relate to the feelings Naruto had in this particular scene. Naruto made it clear from that point on that he was going to follow the path that was right for him and continue on it, never giving up. It’s all thanks to Iruka who helped Naruto make that decision. And Iruka has been with Naruto ever since.

A Post Dedicated to Might Gai

Naruto Character Feature: Might Guy

I’ve been on a Naruto nostalgia trip these past couple days, and I’ve been inspired to write more Naruto-related posts here on the blog. I’ll be getting to other topics, too, but I think I’ve been holding all these thoughts in. Even though Naruto ended two years ago, I’m not ashamed to be talking about it still! 😀

I realized that I didn’t have any great posts about Guy-sensei! After watching and reading Naruto again, I just had to make a post for Guy. He’s too awesome, and he’s one of my favorite characters in Naruto

Naruto Plot: Kaguya’s Role

Kaguya’s Role in the Naruto Series

I’ve heard a lot of hate for Kaguya’s character.

“Who is she?!”

“Where did she even come from?!”

“What’s the point of having her here?!”

I don’t quite remember, but I might have thought those things, too. So I can understand where people are coming from, but I thought more deeply about Kaguya’s role and what Kishimoto was trying to do when he put her in the series. (I don’t know if anyone has come up with something like this, so just my little disclaimer.)

Naruto Characters: Kakashi’s Character Growth

Kakashi Character Analysis

Ah… even though Naruto has ended, I sometimes revisit the series and watch or read my favorite parts. I can’t help it! I still have some attachment to the series. Although a lot of parts aren’t to my liking, I still liked the series overall. Especially the characters.

During a break today, I was watching Naruto Shippuden (the episodes with Kakashi and Obito fighting), and I was inspired to write this post because 1) I love Kakashi’s character growth (considering what he’s been through) and 2) I love Kakashi as a character (he’s so cool! /kyaaaa).

Kakashi’s Childhood

Kakashi was known as a child prodigy and his father was an elite Konoha shinobi. Kakashi grew up with an elitist attitude, and he was quite sassy. I mean, just like at him here when he was just a kid about to enter the academy:

Lol... look at Kakashi putting his hands on his hips xD
Lol… look at Kakashi putting his hands on his hips xD

Then his father committed suicide because he was treated poorly by the villagers, and Kakashi changed. He became bitter and emotionless. He believed that the mission comes first, even if it means your comrades die because you choose the mission over them. However, Kakashi once again goes through a transformation when he decides to believe in Obito’s belief that comrades come first.

One Piece SBS 82: Worst Generation Hobbies

One Piece SBS 82: The Hobbies of the Worst Generation Pirates

I’m a moderator at Oro Jackson, the best One Piece Community around, and I wanted to share an SBS that my buddies Micchan and Divvens helped provide to the community. You can find the entire translated SBS here:

I’m going to be selective here and talk about the page that reveals the hobbies of the Worst Generation, and the ones I want to note here are Law’s, Drake’s, Urouge’s, and Blackbeard’s. I mean… wow. I wasn’t expecting some of these!

Trafalgar D. Water Law’s Hobbies

Oda says that Law’s hobbies are vagrancy and collecting commemorative coins. These… are strange hobbies for Law, frankly. I wasn’t expecting this. I mean, WTF VAGRANCY?! Where does that even come from?! How do you make homelessness a hobby? How? What thrills does he get from it? I hope we see this in the manga some time cos I think it’s hilarious as hell.

One Piece Feature: Kaido’s Drunk Personas

One Piece Scandal: Kaido Gets Drunk

Well, leave it to Oda to give a beastly character like Kaido a bunch of hilarious quirks, which are oddly quite fitting for him. In One Piece Chapter 824 (“Little Pirate Games”), Kaido reveals that he’s got multiple personalities when he’s been sippin’ too much sake…

Drunk Personality #1: The Sentimental Drunk

So… here we have Kaido crying over the fact that he can’t have an all-Devil-Fruit crew because Joker’s been taken out. I mean, this guy is bawling here, and I’m pretty sure the sake has tickled his tear ducts and got him crying in such a state. It’s quite funny that Kaido’s getting emotional over his unrealized “dream” of having a complete Devil Fruit User crew xD I think it kinda shows a childish side to him. I also love reading his men’s thoughts. “I guess today he’s being a sentimental drunk.” That indicates they know all his drunk “sides” and can tell when he’s in one of these moods xD It’s amusing.

One Piece: Kaido’s Reveal!

I’m totally late to the party, but I’m so ready to talk about one of the Yonko in One Piece! First off, I wasn’t expecting Kaido to be revealed so soon. And so epically. But, hey, we’re talking about Oda here, and he has surprised me and many other OP fans countless times. Let me reiterate what Oda said about Kaido here:

“The man was looking for a place to die… And, if I were to tell you about him, he is a pirate that has tasted defeat 7 times and has been captured by the navy and his enemies over 18 times! A man that has lived through countless torture and was a fugitive on the run… Now, he attempts to take his own life… in a way that is still rather rare in his own world… suicide by jumping from Sorajima…

And, now… Let me tell you once more: A man that has been captured all sorts 18 times and survived 10,000 kinds of torture. Having the death sentence handed to him 40 times. But every time he was to be hung, the rope snapped on him. And, even as he is put under the guillotine, the blade mysteriously breaks into pieces… Spears break when he is stabbed, and he has sunk at least 9 gigantic prison ships the whole time he was there.

What I’m trying to say is… Nobody… could kill this man!!! And he himself… find it amusing that to the point that suicide is a hobby!

The man’s name is…

People always said, if you wanted to pick a fight, do it with Kaido… Because among all the living, be it land, sea or air… He’s said to be the strongest pirate alive!!”

Hello, world, please meet Kaido, the man who will destroy you if you wear your feather cape in an unacceptable manner:

What I’ll be discussing in this post:

  2. Kaido’s Declaration of War (And Sayonara Kid Alliance…! Still Love Ya, Just Don’t Tell Kaido Cos I Kinda Love Him, Too)
  3. Little. Pirate. Games.
  4. His Connection to Wano Kuni – No, It’s Not Because He Loves Sake. He Loves Oden… (Too Soon?)
